I want to mail a Christmas card from the US to my friend in Canada. Is it ok to just put 2 or 3 forever stamps on it and put it in the mailbox?

You can put 3 forever stamps on it and drop it in the mailbox.
It costs $1.10 to mail a letter to Canada or any other international location. Forever stamps are worth 46 cents so you need to use 3.
Another option is that the post office can sell you a "Global Forever Stamp" that is exactly $1.10

It is $1.1 to mail a standard letter from the US to Canada, that would be 3 forever stamps.

Go to your post office and they will tell you the cost they have to weigh the letter or it can come back if you put the wrong postage on it or they can charge the person you sent it to for the correct postage.

3 are more than enough, then drop it in the mailbox.
