Question:
Why are Canadians so racist?

I am black and I recently travelled to Canada and subsequently I noticed that it is indeed a very racist country. I received awful stares and taunts daily, mainly from their youth.

Is the source of this racism the high levels of socialism that the country endures? If the pretend president continues, will America be this racist?

Yes socialism breeds racism because the whites are angry the blacks leech so much out of their hard earned tax payer dollars. If there was complete capitalism, then they wouldn't be hateful towards black people because they wouldn't have to pay for them. The current president is making things more socialist, so yes we can say the current president is making things more racist

Where did you go in Canada? I can't think of a town so remote that a black man was unusual enough to illicit stares and taunts. I'm pretty sure that if you paint yourself green, put on your wife's best dress and parade through the streets of Montreal, most people wouldn't notice!

As much as we try we can never wipe out all racism, and we do seem to have our share of ill-bred youth but as a whole I do not believe Canadians are racist, particularly against blacks. Canadian racism is more often aimed at other Canadian groups - French Canadians, Native Canadians, Maritimers,, and Albertans.

I resent the implication that I, a Canadian, am racist. I certainly am not.

Are you sure you weren't just instantly interpreting everything as racially motivated? And what's this bit about Canada having "high levels of socialism that the country endures"? Nobody has to "endure" anything here that is so extraordinary.

I think you were just looking for even the most ridiculously tiny reason to assume racism.

I have a disability and have to "endure" things like cashiers rushing my purchases through when I cannot pack my items as quickly. Does that make Canadians so insensitive to people with disabilities? No offence but you need to get over yourself.

being a Canadian Filipino i found that the more influx of new immigrants to a city or town. people concentrate on the differences of that race or culture . especially when jobs are scarce you find a little more resentment towards them . in your case though i would hedge my bet those teens that taunted you might have problems with the African boys . I wouldn't call Canada a racist country or it's people it's more the growing pains of a multicultural country .

I call bullsh*t on this question for a number of reasons.

To start with, the nonsense about socialism.

I don't know why people are too goddamn lazy to open a dictionary and look up socialism.

I don't know why the majority of those people seem to live in the US.

But I do know such people look like dummies for saying anything's socialist when nothing is.

Socialism is this:

"A political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole"

Reality is that no government anywhere on the planet has seized ownership of literally everything from farms & factories to stores & businesses in order to deliberately put itself out of a job handing direct control of it all to the public.

Reality is that no government is attempting to do that, either.

Not in Canada or anywhere else on the planet either.

Plus Canada's busy kicking America's @ss at good old fashioned capitalism.

Some recent headlines Americans don't seem to pay attention to sum that up:

'Canada: Richer than America and more economically powerful than Europe'

'Canada to lead G7 nations in average growth for next 50 years: OECD'

'Canada rises to Top Five in world economic freedom ranking as U.S. plummets to 18th'

'Canada Trounces U.S. In Best Countries For Business'

'Canadian banks rated safest in world'

'Obama in Canada Finds Worlds Best Financial System'

'And the fastest-growing G8 country is Canada'

'Canada can fairly claim to be the best-governed country in the world'

As for the racism crap, that's bullsh*t too.

Canada was the destination of the Underground Railroad:

It's where escaping US slaves went to precisely because Canada's not racist like the US.

And the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Americans are still escaping the US for a better life in Canada:

'Americans moving to Canada in record numbers: report'

"The number of U.S. citizens who moved to Canada last year hit a 30-year high, with a 20 percent increase over the previous year and almost double the number who moved in 2000."

Only this time it's not just African Americans.

It's anybody wanting a better life in a better place and Canada certainly provides that.

In addition to outperforming the US economically, there's things like this:

-Canada's Constitution provides more rights & freedoms than America's does.

-Canadians pay fewer taxes per person than Americans do.

-Canada's average net worth per person is a whopping 70% higher than America's.

-Canada's national debt is measured in billions. Not trillions like America's.

-Canadians are healthier & live years longer than Americans due to universal healthcare.

-Canada's Triple A credit rating was reaffirmed, not downgraded like America's was.

-Canadians have more property & privacy rights and greater economic freedom than Americans.

-Canada's lowest minimum wage is more than America's highest.

Canada's also the birthplace of Multiculturalism nearly half a century ago.

And nearly half a century later, the results speak for themselves:

Since bullsh*t belongs in a barnyard, kindly run along and shovel yours there.

You've publicly humiliated yourself with fail trolling enough for one day.
