Feel free to try and bring it in. But bw022 already gave you the answer, and you dismissed it as wrong.

You claim the knife is legal because it is not a switchblade, it is spring assisted. But the law specifically states (and I will highlight the words)..."PROHIBITED WEAPONS include any knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, SPRING or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife..."

Even Wild Bill's website specifically tells you to be careful if you are a Canadian customer: "...Some of the items we sell may not be allowed into Canada. It is your responsibility to know the laws of your area before placing an order. We are not responsible for any items that do not clear or are seized by Canadian customs, and no refunds or allowances will be made..."

So here are the three things that could happen:

1) Nothing. Maybe your knife is legal and you get the package and only have to pay any duty or taxes on it.

2) Your knife is seized by Canada Border Services Agency when it arrives at the customs office. You lose the $5.25 plus $13.95 Shipping and Handling.

3) You are found guilty of trying to import or posession of a prohibited weapon into Canada. If you do so and you do it "knowing that the weapon is prohibited", you can be found guilty of a federal crime and face a minimum one year prison term if the crown chooses to indict you.

I would look at it this way...Are you able to find a similar knife in Canada to the one you want to buy from a website in USA? If the answer is no, it's probably because the knives are illegal in Canada, not because they don't want to sell them here.

So, "spring assisted" and "folding" are actually not the two or possibilities. All "spring assisted" knives are folders of one variety or yet another. The spring help is in reality merely a spring assembly extra to the knife to make placing out it greater user-friendly. All such knives are some variety of locking folding knife. there are a number of categories of locks, lots of that are proprietary to the organization (Benchmade's axis lock, SOG replica referred to as the arc lock, chilly steel has one as properly, Kershaw has various - heck even I particularly have a pair) and that they've different good factors and downsides. Glock rfile's occasion of the CRKT "outburst" is a variation of a liner lock, and mutually as improved in static loading than a secondary liner, it suffers greater from unintentional disengagement and is not greater applicable in effect loading. individually? i'm not a super fan of spring assisted knives often, and particularly merely own ones that have a pair of particular good factors: a million) A flipper - meaning which you're actually not utilising thumbstuds to open the knife. it particularly is, particularly, particularly elementary with a spring assisted knife for the blade to get merely before your thumb and you wind up slicing your self. I own slightly knife organization and function dealt with 1000's of knives and that i've got completed it. 2) A "closed" engagement - meaning that there is a few further lock that ensures the blade continues to be closed. surely, each and all of the spring help editions use a cam and spring equipment that places the blade under rigidity, even while it particularly is closed, yet has the vector of rigidity from the spring under the axis of the axel so it may not reason it to open. much greater complicated to describe then to particularly see. basically what meaning is that if that's driving on your pocket and for regardless of reason starts to open up, it is going to attempt and pa open. rather provided that maximum such knives carry tip up (meaning the pocket clip is interior the butt of the knife), returned, it particularly is an exceedingly elementary thank you to cut back your palms up without understanding it. Kershaw has various knives that throughout super condition this catagory - in reality i think of the Leek has those good factors. i've got had some Kershaw's and that they seem to be a sturdy producer. To me a much greater smart innovation from CRKT may well be their LAWKS which you would be able to get on their Crawford designed knives between others which dramatically improves the overall performance of a liner lock layout. Did you read what bw022 posted? Straight from the Code. Spring-assisted knives are illegal.

You can try to order, but at best they'll reach the border and be returned to the sender, but more likely they'd be confiscated and you'd be out the money you spent, wouldn't get the knives, and the CBSA would then have your name/address flagged in the system and anything else going to you would get a closer look.
