I got 2 questions

Firstly what are the Chinese in Canada like? Are they quite ethnocentric and just stick together and live in the same neighbourhoods? Are there many areas of Toronto and Vancouver where you would feel as if you were in China with the amount of Chinese people on the street and the amount of things written in Chinese like on the shops and other buildings? Do young second generation Chinese people in Canada speak to each other in Chinese or English? I am asking because I am half Chinese and I am just curious.

And then secondly, I would also like to know what you think is the best cities in Canada? Do you think Montreal is the nicest? Out of Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary, what do you think is the nicest to live in in order? Is Calgary the worst?

It depends on where you go; I live in Vancouver, and there are Chinese people (myself included) everywhere, but it definitely doesn't feel like China.

There's a healthy mix of Caucasian, Asian, and so on on the streets. There aren't buildings with Chinese writing on them unless you go to specific malls or locations. You'll find these buildings in Chinatown, Chinese restaurants/shops (there aren't many) and small-scale malls.

Most second-generation Chinese people are able speak Cantonese/Mandarin/Taiwanese/etc., but they'll mostly speak English (although I have found that there's a tendency for Taiwanese people to speak Taiwanese). I, myself, usually speak English as opposed to Cantonese and Mandarin. New immigrants will probably choose to befriend people of their own race because they feel more comfortable speaking their native language as opposed to English.

All of the cities you named are great. In context, Vancouver and Toronto are probably the best cities to live in for Chinese people. Ottawa and Calgary are relatively smaller cities as well. Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Calgary are very unique cities -- ranking them would only be a matter of opinion and a question of taste.

Chinese in Canada come in every variation there is. Some just got here and speak little English, some are 4th and 5th generation in Canada and are very westernized. There are mixed marriages of Chinese and white Canadians, and people of other races too. There are areas of Vancouver, Richmond is one, where there are so many Chinese that you could be forgiven for thinking you're in another country if you didn't think about it too hard, but I don't think there's any area of Vancouver where no people of Chinese descent live. Vancouver is my pick of the larger cities.

There are many chinese people in Vancouver. some new immigrants cant speak english very well but other chinese can speak english fluently.even some chinese cant speak chinese anymore. There are many chinese stores in vancouver and i can say you can see chinese people all over the city.there are many chinatowns in vancouver and if you wanna experience living between chinese people just travel to Richmond(near vancouver). i can definitely say more than 80 percent of people in Richmond are chinese and you feel as you are living in china Not Canada.

Personally i think vancouver bc is the best city in canada and one of the best cities on the earth for sure. there are many parks in vancouver that many people all around the world wish to visit them just for one time but i can go to those parks every day.also downtown vancouver is such a perfect palce to have a walk. vancouver is the heaven on the earth

1-vancouver 2-toronto 3-calgary 4-montreal(cuz u should learn french in order to live in montreal and also the weather is really cold in winter)
