in tempatures, edmonton is much colder than toronto. However, the two cities have different kinds of cold. Edmonton is more of a "dry" cold and toronto is more of a "wet" cold. Edmonton is more icy, subzero tempatuers, wind nipping cold, and toronto is more of a slushy, damp, wet, cold. and all the moisture realeased into the air can make it feel colder than edmonton. I think edmonton would be more of a liking to you as the winters in edmonton are much more simular to russia and scandinavia.

edmonton is in canada's west. It is still considered southern Canada. Its more, just below middle Canada.

hope I helped

Yep, Edmonton and northern Alberta are very cold. So is much of Manitoba, including Winnipeg. Ottawa is known to be one of the coldest parts of Ontario (and snowiest!). And all of the cities in the Northern territories (like Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Iqaluit) get REALLY cold in the winter!

One of the large Canadian cities known for VERY cold winter days is Winnipeg, sometimes known as "Winterpeg" because of this.

The city is actually in the Southern part of Western Canada, but farther north than almost any city to the East like Toronto, Montreal, Quebec......this is because Canada's western border with the U.S. is at the 49th parallel to the North

The eastern Canada border with the U.S. is more like the 45th parallel or lower.

But Winnipeg gets about as cold as Northern Canada on given days because there is flat terrain and nothing to block winds in any direction, depending on the weather....so the temperature can be VERY COLD in winter, and scorching in summer, and all the in between.

The coldest of the smaller cities would be Whitehorse and Yellowknife in winter, and Iqaluit in summer.

What temperatures are you meaning when you say extremely cold? The tempertures in Canada don't get really that cold unless you live in the higher north, but Winnipeg, Manitoba has the coldest average and yes I said AVERAGE (not every single day) at about -15.3 C. Edmonton is more in the south eastern part of alberta, which is closer to the western part of canada.

Edmonton is in the North and is much colder than Toronto.
