Put information such as title, floor, etc. above the street address

Put a hyphen between unit/suite/apt number and the street number.

Put the city, province and Postal Code on 1 line.

Put 2 spaces between the Postal Code and the province.

Use machine-readable fonts

There are guidelines about layout, too, e.g. there should be about 2cm free of printing along the bottom of the envelope. See pictures in 2nd link

A house number and street name helps. If you have the Postal Code. That will give the the street name.

More than one address has the same postal code.

Go to the site below and put in your freinds name and the city if you know it and you should get the address. If you don't have the full address then don't bother sending it because he won't get it.
