Canada is considered by Canadians, and, in fact, much of the world as well as a far better place to live than the USA. Why would we want to mess that up? We would lose far more than we would gain.

Why should Canada, a nation superior in many aspects, want to join the US? The mere thought of it brings peals of laughter to the average Canadian or head scratching disbelief that someone would even consider asking or suggesting this. The US has significantly more problematic issues than Canada does (and even more it appears after the last election) and although their economy is superior, their social and justice systems are not. In addition, again as proven in the last election, their Republican governmental system leaves a lot to be desired both financially and as a governing body when compared to a true Parliamentary Democracy such as Canada has. What many people fail to realize is the the US in not a Democracy but rather a Republic which, though similar, has several differences in how a government is both chosen and operates.

Actually having friends and family that live in the US I have heard that several states would almost rather join Canada than remain with the US (at least some groups within them have expressed this desire to be honest). So perhaps in the future the US will be a part of Canada forming several additional provinces and territories.

Why don't we turn your question around?

Americans...Why do you want to remain independent of Canada? Shouldn't Amricans want to become a part of something that is better then what you have now?

President-elect Trump campaigned and won with a slogan of "Make America great again". But Canada is already great. Why waste time trying to rebuild a failing republic when you could be part of a dynasty built on respect for other cultures?

Imagine how little Canada's healthcare system would cost if we had 300 million more people as part of our national healthcare program. Canada's program eliminates the iron fist control of the NRA gun lobbyists, insurance and pharmaceutical companies that essentially have senators in their pockets and prevent any reasonable laws from being passed about gun control, prescription drug prices, and "pre-existing condition" clauses that render that policy null and void that you paid into for years and years.

Tell you what... If you join Canada, we'll even let you name the new country. United States of Canada? Has an interesting ring to it, doesn't it?

Canadians enjoy a quality lifestyle which Americans can only dream of. Top of the list a free at point of need Health Care system. A Parliamentary Democracy based upon the Westminster Model. All Canadian languages have equal status and respect - the two majors being French (Canadian) and English (Canadian).

Because we have a better standard of living. If the US want us to join them, the US has to adopt universal health care, have a sane lave of gun control, vastly improve their public education system, reduce their infant mortality level and cut their defense spending to 2% of GDP. This Canadian lived in the USA for 10 years and was happy to return to Canada. We are what a grown up USA looks like that is run by adults. Not by the rude children that Americans elect as Congressional representatives.

Given the 3rd world hellhole that the US is well on the way to becoming, especially once The Cheeto becomes dictator of it, hell no.

Up here, we have public health care, which is SO much better than the corporate health care mess in the US, our leaders are actually competent, and can balance budgets, as well as staying out of insane and illegal wars.

The US sucks on every measurable level.

Will: And yeah, you, sorority girl. Just in case you accidentally wander into a voting booth one day, there's some things you should know, and one of them is, there's absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we're the greatest country in the world. We're 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, 3rd in median household income, number 4 in labor force, and number 4 in exports. We lead the world in only 3 categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined. 25 of whom are allies. It's simple. The US these days is going downhill so fast to the point it's not even funny. With all those shootings, worthless politicians that make our worthless politicians look good, and many other negative things, the US is on its way to becoming a third world country.

Let's see Canada is BIGGER than the US, has more respect, good trade, better healthcare, better gun laws, less crime, part of the British Commonwealth and the list continues...so why in the frick would they want to be part of that country? Why do you Americans always come and ask the damn question it's stupid, you tried already and lost so give it up.

Canadians like their gun laws, they like their freedoms, they like their clean air and water, they like their healthcare and Canadians like not being Americans. They want nothing to do with being part of the USA. Canadians see the racist mess south of the the border. They see the division, they see the problems with education, they see the bloated military, they see the ****** up politics and they are very happy to remain Canadian.

Why would they want to join USA? And, they can just as easily ask USA why we want to remain independent of Canada. USA has nothing to do with Canada. Why would any of them be looking to join USA?

Don't need Trump. Don't need your crazy 2nd amendment. Don't need your excess greed (sounds like one word though...greed is pretty much always excessive). AND: we love our (social )health care system.

So you're so poorly educated that you're laughably ignorant of the fact Canada already is its own superstate?

Look at a map: http://www.mapsofworld.com/world-political-map-2000px.jpg

Canada's the World's 2nd largest nation. Only Russia owns more of the Earth's surface than Canada does.

The last thing we need is more land. Especially land as paved-over, polluted & overpopulated as America's is.

And big as we are, the last thing we suffer from is US-style Manifest Destiny geographical penis envy to want it.

Next is the fact that we're a kingdom by choice, not a republic at gunpoint.

Terrorists have their Wahhabi-ism . Americans have their Wahoo-ism.

From our perspective, both involve lots of shouting and gunplay that we manage just fine without.

So well. in fact, that Canada's internationally ranked as one of the World's 10 safest nations.

America's never made the Top 10, not even once in its history. Why would we want to annex that? Seriously?

Then there's all the things that makes Canada an independent superstate all by its happy lonesome.

It's everything the US isn't. Meaning we'd have to elevate them up to our standards on all this, and more:

And BELIEVE IT when I say that's ALL barely anything. The list literally goes on and on.

That's the work of centuries, the stuff of miracles. And not our problem to fix. So why would we?

America just elected itself a messiah. Let him get the US caught up to Canada instead of expecting Canada to go rescue America from itself.
