I want to buy a used car and but live in Montreal. Do you think that it might be cheaper to get it from Main or NH? Are there any additional fees for taking a car from the US to Canada?

it is definatly WAY cheaper to buy from america. american cars are cheaper, plus right know the Canadian dollar is worth about 5-10 cents MORE than the american dollar, which makes it even less expensive. yes there are taxes. you have to pay PST and GST.. and i would guess another tax but im not sure. but its definatly well worth it (partly being that you pay gst and pst anyways if you buy in canada)

You always have to pay the taxes when you buy a car abroad and bring it home. So it's not worth it. You sometimes end up paying taxes twice (the US tax + the Canadian tax) if you don't do the paperwork right (in order to buy tax free in the US).

when you bring a car over from the states, you HAVE TO HAVE IT modified to fit canadian standards (ie daytime running lights etc) and pay taxes on it. might not be worth it. make sure you use carfax too to make sure it wasnt a write off that was fixed up
