There is a Canadian Immigration program for care workers and nannies. It is sort of the same as the 'au-pair' program in the US.
You can come to Canada to work as a live in caregiver (usually for elderly people) or as a nanny. You have to live in the same house as your host family and there are certain qualifications and training that you need to have in order to apply.
I will post the Government Website link down below for you to look at. I have a friend who came from the UK through this program and she absolutely loves it. She is living with a great family and looking after their children and doing light housekeeping and cooking. They treat her like she is a part of the family and she just thinks its been the best experience. She is living in Victoria, British Columbia which is a VERY beautiful part of the country.
Good luck !

Other than domestic helpers or housekeepers, nannies, and caregivers are in demand as well in Canada. See http://www.nanniesontheblock.ca for example. This site is a source for Canadian nanny applicants as well as those from around the world.
