Chateau Champlain is in Montreal, not in Quebec (City) BTW.

To answer your question I need to know your budget. There are tons of great places to stay in Montreal.

If you want to be close to the museums, probably Hotel Loews Vogue on rue de la Montagne or the Sofitel on Sherbrooke.

In Quebec City, Chateau Frontenac is always a safe bet, but I read today another hotel called Dominion 1912 is in Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List 2006.

Either way, check out www.bonjourquebec.com

Have fun!

The best hotel is the Chateau Champlain in Quebec, if you like Marriotts (it has been 5 years since we've been there however). Definitely checkout the Casino (there's only one) it's awesome, and the underground town is pretty cool too. We checked out the little pubs at night and had the most fun there, the locals are a blast. Just an FYI, most people speak an interesting mix of English and French, but most know English.
